On March 6th, Lux Frágil will host Batida presents: “1 DJ + 1 Microphone”, a show where the idea of going out at night is dressed up as theatre.
This is the debut of Pedro Coquenão, known as Batida, in writing and directing, being a biographical piece and a declaration of love for the dance floor.
In the form of a monologue, it mixes ideas of stand-up, theatre and clubbing, and features the interpretation of Manuel Moreira.
The microphone, a DJ’s first weapon, takes on a new role in this show. An hour to dance with words, laugh, think and surrender to the movement without barriers between the stage and the dance floor.
“Although what I do is a bit of everything, this play marks my debut in writing and directing theatre.
The Text is Autobiographical and Intimate, Interacts with Current Affairs and tries to honour a little of the Clubbing history. The device is Horizontal and the Theater is Musical. It takes the form of a Monologue, which at times is Stand Up, where the audience is invited to join the play, without being intrusive or violent for shy people like me” – Pedro Coquenão
