It took place at São Luiz Teatro Municipal, one of the most successful tributes to the Diva do Fado, Amália, from the commemorations of the Centenary of Amália Rodrigues, with musical direction by Pedro Castro, who brings together some of the best musicians for this concert.
The concert had a mix of songs, which were immortalized by Amália, in instrumental format or with Amália’s voice, which these excellent musicians accompanied with mastery. The Portuguese fado singer, during her career, traveled through different styles, singing not only in Portuguese, but also in English, French, Spanish or Italian, showing all her vocal, interpretive and versatility skills.
A concert in which 100 musicians from the most varied musical styles, from Italian and French songs to bossa nova, from classical music to folklore, from fado to flamenco, from jazz to tango, took the São Luiz audience to travel through the fado singer’s repertoire.
