16thn Best Bottled Dão Wines Competition

The Dão Regional Wine Commission is holding the 16th edition of the Best Bottled Dão Wines Competition on July 8th and 9th, 2025, at Solar do Vinho do Dão, in Viseu.
This competition represents a moment of great importance for the demarcated region, as it distinguishes and values the wines that best express the identity and quality of Dão.
In this edition, 175 wines exclusively with the DÃO Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC) will be tasted, evaluated in a blind tasting by a panel of 30 tasters, including winemakers, sommeliers, specialist journalists and representatives of the sector, under the coordination of specialist Luís Gradíssimo.
The wines will be awarded Platinum, Gold and Silver medals, and the total number of medals awarded cannot exceed 25% of the total number of wines in competition, ensuring a rigorous, technical and highly selective selection process.
Awards Gala
The results will be revealed at the Gala of the Best Bottled Dão Wines, to be held on July 11, 2025, at the historic Palácio dos Condes de Anadia, in the Municipality of Mangualde.
The ceremony will be attended by the Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro, and the Minister of Agriculture and the Sea, José Manuel Fernandes, among other institutional entities, producers and guests from the sector, in a moment of celebration of the excellence of the region’s wines.
The Competition of the Best Dão Wines is part of CVR Dão’s strategy of promoting, recognising and valuing the regional wine heritage, consolidating Dão as one of the most emblematic wine regions in Portugal.
