Cinemateca Portuguesa – Cinema Museum Rua Barata Salgueiro, 39 – Lisbon
After being present at Culturgest in 2018, at the presentation of the exhibition O Som da Neve, Michael Snow returns to Lisbon to present a full retrospective of his cinematographic work, at the Cinemateca. Artist, filmmaker and musician, Michael Snow is a key name in experimental cinema. His films contributed unequivocally to a question about the very nature of cinema, influencing generations of filmmakers and artists. The program includes 25 films and talks with the filmmaker, who is now 90 years old. Among the titles, highlight the classics Wavelength and La Région Centrale, the rare Funnel Piano and the latest Reverberlin and PucciniConservato. Throughout his six-decade career, Snow has worked in a variety of disciplines, media and media, such as painting, sculpture, film, photography, video, sound, music, and installation.
