After debuting with the EP If You Were Listening in 2021, Jazzy Moon begins the path towards her debut album. “Bad Girl” is the first single.
In this song with R&B and acoustic pop ambiences, where she shows off her velvety voice, the young 22-year-old singer takes a firm stance, but cannot resist the vulnerabilities caused by a heartbreak that defines the entire album, which ends up resulting in a deconstructed version of the Bad Girl concept.
The theme was created with composer Riic Wolf of Blasted Mechanism and producer Stego.
“We started experimenting in a session and as the album is more about heartbreak, they advised me to do a song like “Bad Girl” where I would come out empowered. But I started to realize that I didn’t identify with that persona, so the music took a bit of a turn,” explains Jazzy Moon. Hence the chorus of the theme: “I’m such a bad girl but everytime I see you I wanna cry”.
With the new single, the singer seeks to show that we can allow ourselves to be vulnerable and that we don’t have to hide what we feel when we are most fragile. “You can be a Bad Girl, but you can also cry and be bad. We suffer, but we can also overcome it.”
With references such as Raye, Celeste, Jorja Smith or Billie Eilish, Jazzy Moon promises to be a new sensation in national music with this “healing” album, filled with emotions, that will not leave the public indifferent.
