Queer Fest will take place on September 8, at the Penha SCO artistic production and dissemination cooperative, in Lisbon, and on the 11th and 12th of the same month, at the Sociedade Musical União Paredense (SMUP), in Parede, Cascais municipality.
This festival aims to bring together creative projects that affirm their authors’ right to existence and freedom with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity in the same event, “that can project these voices and make a difference in a society in process standardization/homogenization in the negative, increasingly gray and oppressive.
Queer Fest kicks off on September 8 with the debate ‘Quanto a Arte é Queer’, moderated by Maribel Sobreira and with the participation of André E. Teodósio, Telma João Santos, Tiago Lila, Tiago Bôto, Wagner Borges and Joana D’Água.
The day continues with theater, with a video frame. ‘Tour de Fuck’ is a work of actors and directors Tiago Bôto and Wagner Borges.
The first day also includes a performance by Telma João Santos, trained in dance and mathematics, and a concert-performance, of dance music and intervention, by Joana D’Água and Luiza Cascon.
The September 11th program consists of concerts only. On that day there are Pássaro Macaco, Clementine, Dead Club, Judas and Venga Venga.
For the third and last day of the Queer Fest, on September 12, the debate “O Queer como Interseccionalidade” is scheduled, moderated by Maribel Sobreira, in which Sónia Baptista, Pê Feijó, Raquel Lima, Salomé Honório, Paula Gil, Raquel Freire and Di Cândido participate. There will also be performances by Sónia Baptista and Bruno Cadinha.
The festival ends with concerts by Baby Sura, Matriarca Paralítica & Maria do Mar, Herlander e Fado Bicha.
