Imaginarius – Santa Maria da Feira International Street Theater Festival celebrates its 20th edition in a dual reality, with the program being divided into two stages: from 27 to 30 May in hybrid format and from 9 to September 12 on the city streets.
From the 27th to the 30th of May, will go through the virtual stage, but also through some equipment from Santa Maria da Feira (Aveiro district), such as Quinta do Castelo, Cineteatro António Lamoso, and the auditorium of the Municipal Library, 171 artists from five countries (Brazil, Spain, France, Mexico, and Portugal).
In the four days of programming, 14 companies/artists will present 14 different projects (11 on the digital stage and three in person), of which nine are absolute premieres and five are national premieres.
As for programming in the public space, we highlight the debut of the creation “Subtil Preludio à Humanidade” by SALTO – Internacional Circus School, which takes place on May 27th and 28th, at 9:00 pm, and on May 29th and 30th, at 11:00 am, at Cineteatro António Lamoso.
At Quinta do Castelo, two creations will be on display during the four days: “Despojos da Torre de Babel” by Alexandra Couto and Paulo Pimenta and “O Cubo” by Elisabete Sousa and Diogo Martins.
In the auditorium of the Municipal Library, the short film “Very Very Funn” by Rui Paixão, André Costa Santos and Mariana Machado will premiere on May 27, at 9:00 pm, which can then be viewed online.
Also in the Barracks of the Volunteer Firefighters of the Fair, in honor of the 100 years of the corporation, a pictorial mural will be displayed in the scope of the project “Auxilio no Perigo” by Godmess.
Free access and totally free, presentations in digital format will be able to be followed through the interactive map, which is available on the Imaginarius website and which is adapted to various digital formats.
Creations like “Sinfonia das Hortas”, by the Creative Orchestra, “Get Ready”, by TwoMuch, “Ulisses”, by Auéééu Teatro, “Urban Pantheon”, by Teatro em Caixa, “A Ciegas”, by Companhia Elelei, “Risas de Papel”, by Circonciente, “Poemas com Cheirinho”, by Filipe Alexandre Santos, “Dandelion or the Theory of Possible Words”, by Societat Valentinas, and “[Histories Boxed]”, by Varanda Teatro will pass through digital.
