21 SAVAGE is the new confirmation Super Bock Super Rock

Days after the release of his new album “American Dream”, the soundtrack to the film about his life, which features Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) and himself, the rapper is confirmed as the headliner of the 28th Super Bock Super Rock, on July 19th at the Super Bock Stage.
21 Savage is one of the most relevant names in global hip-hop culture today. Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph was born in Plaistow, London, in 1992. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia, as a child, and this ended up being decisive in his formation as a citizen and artist. As an immigrant, he grew up in disadvantaged neighbourhoods and this whole experience made him form a strong social conscience, always present in his work.
He started to gain attention thanks to mixtapes like “Savage Mode”, in collaboration with producer Metro Boomin. But definitive recognition came with the album “Issa Album”, released in 2017. At that time, it reached a wider audience, thanks to the success of such strong songs as “Bank Account”. Since then, he has never stopped surprising and winning over fans, already surrendered to a style marked by raw lyrics, engaging trap beats and a strong and distinctive vocal presence. The second album, “I Am > I Was”, released in 2018, showed an increasingly mature rapper.
Themes such as “A Lot”, with J. Cole, winner of the 2022 Grammy for ‘Best Rap Song’, “Bank Account”, “Monster” or “All My Friends”, with Post Malone, made the album become a success with the public and critics. In addition to hip-hop, 21 Savage is also known for his activism. He founded the “21 Savage Bank Account Campaign”, aimed at financial education, also providing scholarships for younger people.
More recently, in 2022, he released “Her Loss” with Drake. This meeting between two of hip-hop’s biggest stars resulted in singles like “Rich Flex” or “Circo Loco”. The year 2024 started in the best way for 21 Savage, with the release of a new album.
“American Dream”, the soundtrack for the film about his life scheduled for release on Independence Day in the USA and starring Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) and himself, features guest appearances by names like Travis Scott, Young Thug, Doja Cat, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Durk, Summer Walker, Mariah the Scientist, Burna Boy and Metro Boomin, and promises to be another milestone in the rapper’s career.
On the day of its edition, all 15 songs entered the Spotify Top 200 in Portugal. Despite being a Grammy winner, nominated for 11 Grammys, including 4 for this year’s awards, and a multi-platinum artist, 21 Savage remains authentic like few others. He is, without a doubt, one of the most notable figures in contemporary pop culture and will be visiting Portugal on July 19th, at this year’s edition of Super Bock Super Rock.
