2:22 A Ghost Story

Solidarity Rehearsal, September 13th, in favor of Associação InLuto

The Solidarity Rehearsal of the show “2:22 Uma História de Fantasmas” will take place on the 13th of September, at 9 p.m. at Teatro Villaret. The price of tickets is €15 and the proceeds revert in full to InLuto – Portuguese Association for Integrated Care in Mourning, a scientific, non-profit entity whose mission is to develop intervention, training, and research in the area of mourning.

InLuto was created in 2021 by psychologists from different regions of the country who have specialized training and clinical experience in the area of grief and is governed by the values of integration, equity, respect, compassion, understanding, and genuineness.

The award-winning supernatural thriller that has been filling theaters for four seasons in London’s West End finally arrives in Lisbon. The show, which has already been considered a Modern Classic by the Sunday Times, is on stage at Teatro Villaret, in Lisbon, from Thursday to Sunday, starting on September 14th. The Portuguese version is staged by Michel Simeão.

Joana (Ana Cloe) believes that the new house is haunted, but her husband, Samuel (Pedro Laginha), refuses to accept that the strange events that have occurred lately are related to supernatural phenomena. When they receive a visit from a longtime friend, Laura (Joana Seixas), and her new boyfriend, Quim (João Jesus), the plot sharpens and a simple dinner with friends is disturbed by a succession of strange events that put at stake are the beliefs and skepticism of each of the characters and where the search for the truth forces them to stay awake until 2:22.

It is under this premise that the story unfolds, brilliant and full of adrenaline, written by award-winning author Danny Robins, creator of the successful BBC podcast “The Battersea Poltergeist”. Premiered in 2021 at the Noël Coward Theater in London, it quickly became an immediate success. It was also Lilly Allen’s stage debut – playing a mother on the brink of despair who believes her baby’s room is haunted – which earned her the Whatsonstage Award for Best Actress and a nomination for the 2022 Olivier Awards in the same category. Distinctions also attributed to the show that won the prize for Best Theater Play in 2022 at Whatsonstage and several nominations for Olivier in the same year.
