30% of Portuguese people with less € 581 to spend on holidays

There are 30% of Portuguese with an average loss of € 581 in their holiday budget compared to 2019, reveals Fixando, the largest national platform for hiring local services, in a survey of 12,000 individuals in the first 15 days of May.

The consultation also reveals that 68% of those who planned a vacation decided to stay in Portugal, however, and only 58% went on vacation. The rest decided to cancel them (38%) or saw their vacation canceled (4%).

Those who have already canceled travel bookings worth an average of € 1,200 per traveler will lose € 940 of that total, with only 23% getting a full cash refund of the amounts already paid.

It also became known that 75% of Portuguese people have not yet planned their holidays for 2020, with 27% alleging lack of income, 24% suffer from uncertainty in the future and 14% are afraid to travel in the face of the pandemic.
