For the fourth consecutive year, and as part of Penha Longa’s initiatives to support the community, the resort is organising the 4th edition of the Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for May 9th.
As usual, the tournament is held with the aim of supporting breast cancer research, this year in support of the GIMM Foundation – Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine Foundation. The big news of this edition is the organisation of a dinner (cocktail dinatoire) at the Arola restaurant, which will be attended by Chef Sergi Arola, recognised by the Michelin Guide with one star for his LAB by Sergi Arola project, located in the resort itself.
Open only to golfers, this is an opportunity to spend a different day, with an activity that can be done with family or friends, with the great advantage of being an opportunity to help those most in need. Scheduled to start at 10:00, the tournament will take place over 18 holes of the Atlântico course, and at each hole there will be a silent auction, with prizes guaranteed by hotels, resorts and national and international brands. The tournament is, once again, organised with the support of the Marriott Business Council Portugal and Marriott Bonvoy.
GOAL: TO RAISE €35,000
Each year that passes, the bar gets higher: this year, the main objective of this solidarity initiative is to raise 35 thousand euros, an amount that will be donated in full to the GIMM Foundation, which will apply it to breast cancer research. The money will be raised through players’ participation in the tournament, voluntary donations, a silent auction and, new this year, a fundraising dinner attended by Catalan chef Sergi Arola.
