There is very little time left until the most anticipated event for lovers of Brazilian culture and lifestyle. Bossa Market returns to FIARTIL, in Estoril, for its sixth edition, to take place on June 7th and 8th.
This year’s musical program will feature Paulo Miklos, ex-Titãs, on Saturday the 7th, singing the most iconic pop rock hits, such as “Sonífera Ilha”, “Pra Dizer Adeus” and “É Preciso Saber Viver”, among many other hits from his 40-year career in the music scene. On Sunday the 8th, it will be the turn of Portuguese singer Tiago Nacarato to take to the Bossa Stage with his enchanting repertoire that ranges from bossa to samba.
More than 120 exhibitors have confirmed their presence, most of whom have already participated in previous editions and are back to repeat their success, in addition to many new features:
“Throughout five editions, Bossa Market has become a reference and meeting point by bringing together the best of Brazil in one place. The visible part of our work is felt by the loyal and ever-growing Bossa Market audience as soon as they enter the gates of Fiartil: the event’s atmosphere radiates the charm, joy, lightness and cultural diversity of the Brazilian lifestyle. But beyond what is visible, we work hard to strengthen the local economy, offering approximately 700 direct and indirect jobs and promoting entrepreneurship, while celebrating the cultural diversity between Brazil and Portugal. With impeccable curation and strategic partnerships, we ensure that, each year, Bossa Market leaves a mark of innovation and sustainability, with a focus on generating positive results for exhibitors, visibility for artists and unforgettable memories for the public”, comments Fabi Barcellos, the businesswoman responsible for creating and organizing the event since its first edition.
Check out some details about the event below:
BOSSA STAGE
This year, in addition to the main attractions, Paulo Miklos (Saturday) and Tiago Nacarato (Sunday), Bossa Market will have music playing all the time. On Saturday, confirmed performances include Rocho and Tere Franco (Bossa Nova and Fado), Carol Ramalho (tribute to Marisa Monte), Bué Tolo (carnival block) and Allan Massay (Pop Brasil), as well as DJs Levy Gasparian, Janaína Amar and Jeco Thompson. Sunday’s attractions will be Duda Laurent (Bossa Nova and MPB), Colombina Clandestina (carnival block), Samba do Serginho (samba, pagode and axé) and Baile du Bom (dance party with samba rock), complemented by sets by DJs Brota and Zecka.
BOSSA FOOD, BAR & WINE
The best part of the event, without a doubt: dozens of options to get that authentic taste of Brazil! Among the event’s long-standing partners, the following stand out: Hangus Carnes (a restaurant with premium meats), Carolina Sales Café (with its famous gourmet brigadeiros and the sought-after chocolates from Dubai), and Bah! Craft Beer (craft beers produced by a brewer from Rio Grande do Sul in Cascais), Madre Coxinha (the most famous Brazilian delicacy in several versions), Caipirinhas Cachaça 51 (that great idea), Santinni (ice creams with tropical flavors) and Pastel de Vento (the name says it all). And there’s much, much more: coconut water, açaí, popsicles, fruits and many reasons to forget about your diet until Monday. Wine lovers can toast at BOSSA WINE, a space organised by Casa Ermelinda Freitas, one of the event’s sponsors.
FASHION AND DECOR
Right at the entrance to Bossa Market, the Brazilian style is evident in the vibrant colours and creative designs of the fashion exhibitors. Brands such as Abacaxi Brasil, Pipe, Mandarine, Made por Elas, Ins Boho and Encantos do Mundo, among many others, fill visitors’ eyes and bags with beachwear, dresses, jewellery and accessories that complement the charming looks. But you can also find incredible new decoration and homewares, for example, at Cartune Store and Kendle.
AYRTON SENNA’S CAR EXHIBITION
The unforgettable Ayrton Senna, an idol in both Brazil and Portugal, will be honoured with the exhibition of the car he drove in his official single-seater debut in England in 1981. It was at the wheel of this car that Senna won two Formula 1600 titles (Townsend Thoresen and RAC Brin) at the beginning of his award-winning career. Alongside this historic relic, which will be on display at the CRM Motors stand, the car of the BOSSA RACING TEAM – a new project full of adrenaline and speed – and with the iconic Bossa identity, will also be on display. F3 driver Ivan Domingues, who won the sprint race at the Spanish Grand Prix on May 31, will be honoured during the event on Sunday, June 8, at 3:00 p.m. The young driver from Leiria was the first Portuguese to win a race in the FIA Formula 3 World Championship. At just 19 years old, and in what was only the fifth race of his F3 career, Ivan started from sixth position and led the race from the third corner on the Catalunya circuit.
BOSSA KIDS
During the two-day event, from 2 pm to 8 pm, there will be face painting and creative workshops offered by the partnership with the Benfica Foundation, which is one of the big new features this year. This partnership will also bring other activities throughout the weekend, such as traditional games, family activities and the “Victory, Victory, Tell Me a Story!” Storytelling session to be held twice a day. Also, partners with Espaço Kids are Meu Mini Chefinho, which will hold fruit stick and mini pizza workshops, and The Inventors, which will offer the Lightsaber and Solar Beetle workshops – two very fun projects in which electronics and solar energy are part of the associated concepts.
BOSSA EXPERIENCE
As in previous years, hairdressing, makeup, tattoo and massage services will be provided, and the SheerME platform, an app for discovering, booking and paying for services in the wellness and beauty areas, is back as a sponsor of this space for the second time to promote its services through an incredible virtual wallet system and an ecosystem of benefits and cashback for customers.
BOSSA LOUNGE
The event also features an exclusive lounge area for guests and artists sponsored by Lola Cosmetics Portugal, which will make the space even more charming.
ABOUT THE BOSSA MARKET
Held since 2018 at FIARTIL, in Estoril, Bossa Market is a successful initiative promoted by businesswoman Fabi Barcellos, who created the event to foster the integration of Brazilian entrepreneurs in Portugal. Throughout five editions, Bossa Market has become a reference and meeting point for the Brazilian community by bringing together the best of Brazilian lifestyle in one place. Entrepreneurship is the main pillar, but the cultural program is the heart of the event: by giving a stage to Brazilian sounds and flavours, it transforms the atmosphere of the event into a “little bit of Brazil that sings and is happy”, as the song says. In 2024, the event’s audience exceeded 12 thousand people throughout a single weekend.
In previous editions, Bossa Market welcomed more than 80 artists, with highlights including Fernanda Abreu, Ana Vilela, Izabella Rocha (Natiruts), Sylvinho Blau Blau and the local carnival groups Bué Tolo and Sardinha Imperial. In addition to the stages, entrepreneurship is present with hundreds of brands – Brazilian and Portuguese: more than 120 participate every year, exhibiting their products and services.
