It was in GUIdance that the career of Victor Hugo Bridges exploded. It was 2012 and the choreographer debuted “A Ballet Story”, which immediately became a phenomenon. Months before, also in the CCVF, showed for the first time “Fuga Sem Fim”. Bridges still had not lost the fear to the Great Auditorium and, therefore, the play takes place inside the stage, closed. And that’s where we’ll be returning at the opening of the second week of GUIdance 2019. Victor Hugo Pontes is the featured choreographer at this year’s festival. In addition to this reassembly will present, at the opening of the event, “Drama”, in an absolute debut. This is not the only piece the public will see for the first time in this year’s GUIdance. Of the nine program shows, six are absolute premieres and co-production of The Workshop. The festival also promotes two premieres in Portugal of foreign companies. After showing the national audience, for the first time, the work of Studio Wayne McGregor and Russell Maliphant, GUIdance invites the inescapable Michael Clark who, with “to a simple, rock’n’roll … the song”, will close this edition. A week earlier, the promising company WANG RAMIREZ presents “EVERYNESS”.
