7D7D, the new band by Tim Commerford – bassist for Rage Against the Machine – arrives in Portugal with two dates this year: October 24th at LAV – Lisboa ao Vivo and October 25th at Hard Club Porto. These dates mark the band’s debut in Portugal, which has three singles and many more songs to come.

Tickets available tomorrow, August 28th at 10am, at the usual locations and at everythingisnew.pt

7D7D is a band from Los Angeles consisting of Tim Commerford (bass), Mathias Wakrat (drums) and Jonny Polonsky (guitar). Since releasing their debut single “Capitalism” on Black Friday on November 25, 2022, the trio has continued to release powerful and confrontational music. All of these songs were recorded at Tim and Mathias’ studio in Los Angeles, while Jonny added his parts from his studio in New York.

With Jonny’s recent move to Los Angeles, the band began rehearsing and soon after scheduled their first show. “We’ve been recording songs for the last two or three years via email, but since moving from New York to Los Angeles in January, we’ve been rehearsing pretty regularly. It’s really exciting to finally get out and play live in front of an audience,” he says. Johnny.

“It’s exciting to finally hear these songs live, they sound so much better than expected,” added Mathias. “It’s, without a doubt, the most fun musical project I’ve ever been a part of.”

Tim continued: “I’m proud to be part of this artistic fighter jet that never stops teaching me. I’m lucky to be with musicians like Mathias and Jonny. Plus, we’re at war and I need to sing about it.”

ABOUT THE MEMBERS OF 7D7D:

Tim learned to play bass and began channelling a difficult childhood into music. When he was 20 years old, he joined Rage Against The Machine. Tim was also part of Audioslave (where he met Jonny) and Prophets of Rage.

Mathias was born and raised in France, later meeting Tim after moving to Los Angeles through their shared passion for mountain biking. In 2015, the two formed the trio Wakrat, touring Europe, and also with Prophets of Rage.

Tim and Jonny started writing songs together after Audioslave disbanded. Jonny had been their guitar tech, but this humble position is misleading – Jonny was discovered in the 90s by Rick Rubin and signed to his label, American Recordings, and has also worked with Johnny Cash, Puscifer, and David J of Bauhaus, among others.
