February is the month of love, romance and sharing and also marks the return of the Valentine’s Day Music Festival, which celebrates all these feelings with the best soundtrack.
The Festival ‘Montepio at times o amor’ is back for its 8th edition on the 12th, 13th and 14th of February with concerts in 14 cities that, during these days, will be 14 true capitals of love, in which S. Valentim will be celebrated to the sound of the best national music.
Jorge Palma, Luísa Sobral, Bárbara Tinoco and Diogo Piçarra are the new confirmations of the Festival’s poster, which for three days promotes the sharing of emotions and feelings throughout the country.
Jorge Palma, composer, performer and outstanding pianist, will perform on February 12th at Cine-Teatro Avenida, in Castelo Branco, at 10 pm.
His path needs no introduction. Over more than 40 years of their career, he has released numerous original records, composed hits and has multiple gold and double platinum records.
In Castelo Branco, Jorge Palma presents himself as an acoustic trio, accompanied by Vicente Palma on guitar, piano and voice, and by Gabriel Gomes who offers the sound of the accordion to create truly intimate and special environments around the unmissable themes of Palma.
Also on February 12, Luísa Sobral performs live at Teatro Sá da Bandeira, in Santarém, at 9.30 pm.
One of the most relevant and versatile Portuguese singers and composers today, she debuted in 2011 editions and, since then, has had the opportunity to travel through different territories of music, not only through interpretation but also through composition, a facet in which she has stood out by having composed for artists such as Ana Moura, António Zambujo, Marco Rodrigues, Mayra Andrade, Sara Correia, among others.
On the 12th of February concert, Luísa Sobral will perform as a duo with guitarist Manuel Rocha, for an intimate concert that promises to celebrate love and remind people of the importance of sharing special moments with those they love the most.
Bárbara Tinoco will perform at the Carlos do Carmo Municipal Auditorium, Lagoa for a double session on February 12th – at 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm – and on February 13th at 4:00 pm. This is his long-awaited solo debut at the Festival ‘Montepio at times o amor’.
After brief participation in the casting phase of the program “The Voice Portugal”, where she had the opportunity to show “Before Dela Dizer Que Sim”, an original song that she would release a year later, in 2019, as her debut single, Bárbara Tinoco won, in 2020, the second place in the final of Festival RTP da Canção, interpreting a song written by Tiago Nacarato, “Passe-Partout”.
In April 2021 she edited an EP of collaborations and “Bárbara”, her debut album, was released in October 2021 followed by four sold-out concerts at Coliseus de Lisboa and Porto.
Diogo Piçarra performs on February 13th at Teatro Virgínia, in Torres Novas, at 9:30 pm.
Since his debut with the album “Espelho” (2015), the singer-songwriter has collected successes and milestones in his career, including numerous sold-out shows in the biggest venues in the country. His path has also been marked by national and international duets such as “Nada É Para Sempre” with Vitor Kley and the more recent “Monarquia”, a collaboration with rapper Bispo.
These four new artists announced, join RESISTÊNCIA, THE BLACK MAMBA, GNR, AUREA, FERNANDO DANIEL and BONGA completing the cast of this edition of the Festival ‘Montepio at times o amor’ which promises to warm passionate hearts and remind people of the importance of sharing special moments with those you love the most.
