First performance by Giancarlo Guerrero as Master Guest Conductor of the Gulbenkian Orchestra. Naturally gifted and instinctive musician, the current Musical Director of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra directs in these concerts not only fundamental works of Dvořák and Brahms but also the star of flamenco guitar (Juan Manuel) Cañizares. The guitarist belonged to the group of Paco de Lucía, having participated in the recording of Lucía of the essential work for a guitar that is the Concert of Aranjuez. In 2011 it was his turn to surrender with great success to the creation of Joaquín Rodrigo, under the direction of Simon Rattle.
