80 Portuguese artists come together for a solidary theme

What happens when more than 80 Portuguese musicians gather together? An inspiring song is born for these strange times that we live: “Não é o Fim” (It’s not the end”).

The idea for the theme was born by the Portuguese musician Paulo Brissos, who quickly decided to speak with other professional colleagues and turn a simple song into a manifesto for the present times. A manifesto for the future AMP – Association of Musicians of Portugal. An association that fits all Portuguese musicians.

With more than 80 artists involved, 18 instrumentalists and 62 singers, all in quarantine, the name of the 80in40tena project was born.

80em40tena is thus the demonstration of the strength of some of the workers most affected in these last months: those who work directly in Culture, with the public. From musicians to technicians, often forgetful of the limelight but, just as or more important as those who give the voice, the face.

The theme is not the end is available for download from April 16, World Voice Day, on the Bandcamp platform exclusively. The following week, it will be available for streaming on other digital platforms.

We emphasize that all Portuguese musicians can be part of AMP – Association of Musicians of Portugal. To do so, simply access the association’s social networks already created and learn how to join.
