New responsible for surfing in Europe, Africa and the Middle East is Portuguese
Portugal’s Francisco Spínola has been chosen by the World Surfing League (WSL) as general director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA), announced the body that supervises the modality on a professional level.
WSL justified Spinola’s choice for his “recognized contribution to the development of professional surfing in Portugal”.
“I am very enthusiastic and anxious about the challenges of this role, and I recognize that the EMEA is a huge and highly complex region with many countries, different languages and cultures, and I believe that a deep knowledge of each market is vital,” he said.
WSL’s headquarters in this region will be in Lisbon.
