The Black and Silver Room at Casino Estoril will host the 9th Lusophony Awards Gala on October 11th, starting at 9:30 pm, an event promoted by CLPI – the International Association of Portuguese-Speaking Communities.
The awards will honour individuals who have developed notable, sustained, and meritorious work in favour of the Portuguese language or Lusophony.
The Lusophony Awards Gala aims to highlight the role of women, men, institutions, and organisations that have best represented the indomitable will to ensure respect for the image of Portuguese-speaking citizens throughout the world.
There is intense and fraternal interaction among citizens of Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as among all citizens residing in the various diasporas spread across the five continents. There is, therefore, a universal public service mission for the Lusophone world, which is essential to understand and recognise, and which is incumbent upon all citizens of the CPLP.
With the Lusophone Awards Gala, the CLPI aims for art and culture to be the greatest showcase of a world understood through the Portuguese language and that respects the cultural differences that history has woven and that the citizens of Portuguese-speaking countries have accepted as their own. They have received, in fact, as a common and fraternal heritage.
“We will, therefore, attend an event where high-quality and important interventions will take place within the framework of Portuguese-speaking citizenship in Portugal and around the world. And, of course, we will honour some of the most prominent figures in the field of Lusophone culture in recent times,” reveals the CLPI.

Those who do not RSVP may request a ticket on the day of the awards ceremony, subject to capacity. The event is open to individuals 14 years of age and older.
