The “most beautiful house in Porto” offers a return to the 19th century
Palacete Silva Monteiro opens its doors to the city on Saturday with guided tours and green wine tastings
From March 4th, Palacete Silva Monteiro, in Porto, opens its doors on Saturdays for guided tours and Vinho Verde tastings. What is currently Casa do Vinho Verde proposes, weekly between 2.30 pm and 6.30 pm, a discovery of the various spaces of the 19th-century palace. XIX.
Located at nº 318, Rua da Restauração, “The most beautiful house in Porto”, as it was called in various publications of the time -, it is spread over three floors that are made known during a 1-hour guided tour. The Restoration Course team at the Catholic University of Porto assigns a specialist to explain the architectural and decorative details that serve as a reference to the history of Porto in the 19th century.
With a maximum limit of 15 participants each, visits take place every hour and are subject to prior registration, with a cost of 5 euros per person. In the end, there is a tasting of Vinho Verde, with two references from producers in the Region, who go through the various profiles of wines from the Denomination of Origin.
