In 2023, Rodellus opened the tasco and the public joined the party! The festival “for those who are not afraid of the countryside” took place last Friday and Saturday in the parish of Ruílhe, in Braga, and had its best edition to date!
Close to 2,000 festival-goers passed through the enclosure located in a part of the “Senhor Cardoso e da Menina Bete” farm, between the corn plantations and the Este River. This was the first edition of Rodellus to sell out.
On Friday, and despite the rain, the festival already promised an unparalleled edition, with a clear increase in attendance since recent years. On Saturday, expectations were completely surpassed, with the first “sold out” of Rodellus! The presence of an increasingly loyal audience is notorious, attracted first by the poster, but who quickly become dazzled by the enclosure bordered by gambiarras, the cornfield, the River Este, and the familiar and intimate atmosphere. From start to finish, on both days, the “brave Rodellus” (as the festival calls its audience) did not budge, leaving the feeling that there would always be room for one more song.

About Rodellus
Rodellus is a festival in rural areas, with a wide scope of intervention, where music, environmental awareness, eco-design, and tradition come together to create one of the most refreshing cultural offers of the summer. Its mission is to add culture, break down barriers and prejudices, encourage openness to new artistic trends as well as the role of each one of us in raising environmental and social awareness.
Organized by Rodellus – Associação Cultural, in Ruílhe, Braga, Rodellus is a festival that “imports” typically urban cultures into the bucolic environment of the countryside. Betting on emerging national and international projects, Rodellus has and will always have a different programming, detached from calendars or schedules and essentially, cemented in rock!
Over 7 editions, Rodellus has already featured more than 100 projects, national and international, which have left their mark on the most beautiful course in Portugal. Today is the high point of summer in Braga, witnessing a true pilgrimage to the fields of Ruílhe. The rock, the party, the snacks, more rock, and its people, make Rodellus one of the obligatory stops on the itinerary of national festivals. In 2019, it was awarded the “Best Small Iberian festival” at the Iberian Festival Awards, by APORFEST.
