“My city” by Paulo Ossião at the Casino Estoril Art Gallery

The Casino Estoril Art Gallery opens on May 3rd at 5 pm, a solo exhibition by watercolourist Paulo Ossião, entitled “My city”.
Just like people, cities also have their favourite painters and this watercolourist, who is unanimously considered the best of the present day within this modality, has uniquely portrayed Lisbon.
His watercolors show us, in a very unique language, the luminosity of the city, whether in the blue of the sky and the river, or the ochre of the roofs of the neighborhoods of Lisbon or the facades of the old houses, the Tagus and its bridges, the riverside areas, the Castle and the Cathedral, the Pantheon, and so many other things, which are icons of the capital and some of his favorite themes.
Paulo Ossião was born in Lisbon in 1952. Since 1981, his work has been recognised with several awards and honourable mentions. He has held more than 50 solo exhibitions in various galleries and institutions. He participated in numerous group exhibitions with watercolours and sculptures. Currently, his works are represented in several museums, companies and public and private institutions, as well as many private collections in Portugal and abroad. He illustrated several poetry books and edited the book “Olhares” (charcoal and watercolour). Throughout his career, he created sculptures in bronze and other materials, which he regularly exhibits alongside his paintings.
The Casino Estoril Art Gallery will host the exhibition “My city”, by Paulo Ossião, from May 3rd to June 9th. Admission is free.
Casino Estoril opens at 3 pm and closes at 3 am, with entry limited to those over 18. Access is only valid after mandatory registration and upon presentation of a physical identification document (Citizen’s Card, Identity Card, Military Identity Card, Passport, National Driver’s License) or Government mobile application (IGov App). It is suggested to arrive early to complete the registration process formalities.
