A Ver Tavira presents new flavors for the summer

Michelin star restaurant welcomes the new season with a renewed menu. The Algarve identity remains at the heart of chef Luís Brito’s cuisine.

A Ver Tavira welcomes summer with the news: a renewed tasting menu, which combines classic references from the cuisine of chef Luís Brito and new dishes. Regional products, traditional references, and the chef’s experiences around the world remain the guiding thread of the new proposals – complemented by the contemporary, inventive, and differentiating approach, which marks the fine dining at A Ver Tavira.

The new menu comprises six different moments, which take the customer on a journey to Algarve cuisine and the international flavors that chef Luís Brito has been in contact with throughout his career.

To begin with, the first moment – “Between here and there” – consists of two dishes: the newcomer Gamba Violet, cauliflower, green apple, and caviar; and anchovy with pink tomato and almond.

This is followed by the Angolan tribute of “Africa on the way”, now presented with line fish, tapioca, calulu and mueta.Tépido” combines Bluefin tuna – a favorite ingredient in chef Luís Brito’s kitchen – with fermented cabbage and lime caviar. Still in the main dishes, “The duck’s journey” proposes Duck breast with rice, foie gras, and beetroot.

To close, the menu has two moments. “A Passage” combines avocado, pineapple from the Azores, and black cardamom. “A Merendica” proposes the infallible combination of goat cheese, ham, and olives.

Located in the heart of the historic area of the city that gives it its name, A Ver Tavira was opened in 2006 with the aim of paying tribute to the locality and the region through fine dining cuisine, and respect for local ingredients and traditional roots. In this way, the restaurant’s menus are updated frequently, based on the presentation of the best selection of ingredients, for a memorable experience.

After being included in the 2021 Michelin Guide, A Ver Tavira received its first Michelin star at the end of the same year. The restaurant is also listed in the Expresso Boa Cama Boa Mesa 2022 Guide.
