Abolition of the death penalty of Mario Belém

To celebrate 150 years of the abolition of the death penalty in Portugal, the Urban Art Gallery invited the artist to occupy part of a wall and its contiguous wall. Mario used more vivid colours, such as yellow, orange and blue, in clear contrast to the darker tones that death suggests. The work is divided into three: the image of life represented by flowers; that of death, with the skeleton; and the phrase of celebration.
