With strict safety measures and complying with all the rules of the General Health Directorate regarding the prevention of COVID-19, the roots of the blues returned to Baixa da Banheira and did not leave the public indifferent.
Despite the decrease in the number of seats, due to the need for physical distance, the 9th edition of BB Blues Fest received, between 8 and 11 October, about 500 spectators. The musicians stressed their joy at being back on stage, after a break since the beginning of the pandemic.
On behalf of the organization, the Mayor of Moita, Rui Garcia, welcomed the public of BB Blues Fest and stressed that “it is essential that culture, shows and the arts are not confined”. “Here, we are proving that we are able to carry out initiatives, complying with safety standards. We are ensuring that the pandemic does not hinder the future, it does not hinder art and the joy of living”.
Fast Eddie Nelson, José Luis Pardo and The Mojo Workers, Sugartown Duo, The Smokestackers, Legendary Tigerman, with special guest João Cabrita, Greg Izor & Emilio Arsuaga, El Pavoni & The Moonshine Tones, Silver Coast Blues and Peter Storm & The Blues Society were the musicians and bands that passed through the stages of the auditorium of the José Manuel Figueiredo Cultural Forum, from the space outside the Forum and of the Blues Picnic, in the José Afonso Park.
BB Blues Fest is the result of a partnership between BBBP – Associação BB Blues Portugal, the Municipality of Moita and the Union of Parishes of Baixa da Banheira and Vale da Amoreira.
