About 700 Alentejo wines will be on trial, from Saturday until Monday at the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon, at an event with 75 producers and industry experts, the promoters announced today.
According to the Alentejo Regional Wine Commission (CVRA), the event “Wines of the Alentejo in Lisbon”, which intends to promote and promote the region’s wines, celebrates this year the 10th edition with a new format, the first two days are devoted to consumers and Monday is aimed at professionals.
Promoted by the CVRA, the initiative includes wine tastings, expert-guided wine tastings, gastronomy and musical entertainment on Saturday with Pedro Simões.
A “novelty” of this edition of the event is the electronic registration of proven wines, through the glass that the visitors receive with the acquisition of the entrance ticket, and the information of the wines they have tasted is subsequently sent to the visitors by e-mail.
The CVRA intends to allocate a percentage of the revenues from the value of the entries to a social cause, and the “Um copo de Alentejo, Uma Árvore” campaign was created in partnership with the Plantar Uma Árvore association, which aims to contribute to “helping reforestation Portugal “.
According to the promoters, the 2017 edition counted on the presence of about ten thousand visitors.
