Vodafone Rally de Portugal forestation action

Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 21st, the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) and the Municipality of Paredes will promote an action to afforest native trees in Baltar, a parish that, in May this year, will once again host another edition of the Vodafone Rally de Portugal.

With this initiative, the ACP and Câmara de Paredes intend to raise awareness of environmental sustainability in the Rally de Portugal, in this specific case, in the Shakedown and the Paredes stage. In line with the defence of best environmental practices, Carlos Barbosa (President of the ACP) and Alexandre Almeida (President of the Municipality of Paredes), accompanied by students from Escola Básica de Baltar, a candidate for Eco-School, will be present at the tree planting autochthonous.

This reforestation action is part of the Rally de Portugal’s environmental policy plan, which provides for a greenhouse gas emissions compensation program, promoting actions to plant native species in the areas surrounding the event.

Immediately following the afforestation action, the Baltar Kartódromo will be the stage for the “Rally de Portugal Exhibition”, with the president of the Municipality of Paredes taking the place of the navigator in one of the most competitive rally cars today.
