Adelaide Teixeira and António Durães awarded in the United Kingdom

The list of winners of the festival, which ran exclusively online from 23 to 25 October, was released on the official website of the event.

“Surdina”, a film about love, old age, and what is said between teeth, is the latest fiction by Rodrigo Areias and has the argument of the writer Valter Hugo Mãe, with whom the filmmaker wanted to work for over a decade.

The film was shot in the historic center of Guimarães and in São Cristóvão de Selho, in the municipality of Guimarães, places with family contact points for Rodrigo Areias and Valter Hugo Mãe.

The film is starred by actor António Durães, in the role of Isaque, a lonely man, dealing with the passage of time, in a small village where everyone comments on the life of others and to which the woman who supposedly died had returned.

In addition to António Durães and Adelaide Teixeira, the film also features Ana Bustorff, Jorge Mota, Fernando Moreira and Mário Moutinho, among others.

Surdina” debuted in Portugal in July. The film should have had a commercial debut in April, but the date was changed because of the covid-19.

The film has a soundtrack by Tó Trips, who has performed in several sessions in a cine-concert format.
