His new project is perhaps his most ambitious: two albums dedicated to the life and work of the late singer Adriano Correia de Oliveira.
This new project will be divided into two distinct discs: the first, with a release date on June 10th called ‘Adriano80‘ (this year the singer would be exactly 80 years old) and, a second, ‘Adriano40‘, to be released on 16 October, on the 40th anniversary of his death.
For this first album, Paulo Bragança chose themes such as ‘Rosinha’, ‘A Noite dos Poetas’, ‘Minha Mãe’, ‘Menina dos Olhos Sads’, ‘Erguem-se Muros’, ‘Song with Tears’ and ‘As Mãos ‘, thus covering several moments in the career and work of Adriano Correia de Oliveira. It should be noted that none of these songs had been revisited before, with the exception of ‘Minha Máe‘ (Adriano and José Afonso) and ‘Rosinha‘ (also performed in addition to Adriano, by Amália).
Adriano80 comes out today June 10th, Day of Portugal, Camões, Portuguese Communities, and Portuguese Language Day. It also celebrates the date of June 10, 1580, the date of Camões’ death.
