African Nations Handball Championship in Tunis

Tunis, the capital of Tunisia will host the African Nations Handball Championship, with the best teams from the African continent.

The 24th edition of CAN will take place from 16 to 26 January, with the home team, leader of the continental ranking, favourite to win. Tunisian have 23 appearances and won 10 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze, and will count on home fans during the competition.

Egypt, third in the African ranking and with 18 achievements, 6 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze, is another strong candidate.

Algeria is another strong candidate, second in the African ranking with eighteen achievements. But also Angola, which in the last two editions took third place in the podium, will have a say.

Angolans, winners of the African Games gold medal, will fight for the group stage with Nigeria, Libya and Gabon in Group B and will play with Nigeria tomorrow.

Group A is made up of the teams from Egypt, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea Conakry and Kenya.

Group C are Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Cape Verde and Tunisia

Group D is made up of the teams from Morocco, Algeria, Congo Brazzaville, Senegal and Zambia.
