“After Hours Til Dawn” by The Weeknd passes through Lisbon
The Weeknd has just announced the passage of “After Hours Til Dawn” in Portugal. The 6th of June marks the start of the tour in Europe at Passeio Marítimo de Algés.
Tickets are available on February 4th at 10am, at everythingisnew.pt and at the usual places.
The tour celebrates the album “After Hours”, released in 2020 and from which the mega single “Blinding Lights” came out (chosen as the song that topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the longest time, surpassing the hit “The Twist” by Chubby Checker, 1960), as well as the critically acclaimed Dawn FM, released in January 2022. Kaytranada and Mike Dean join the artist for the first part of the show on all European dates.
The “After Hours Til Dawn” tour is supported by Binance, the global blockchain ecosystem behind the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange and bringing Web 3.0 technology to audiences around the world.
“After Hours Til Dawn” tour ticket holders will receive an NFT souvenir as well as access to an exclusive collection of NFTs for the tour. An initiative created in collaboration with HXOUSE, a think tank and community incubator for creative entrepreneurs, where five percent of NFT collection sales from the tour will be donated to the XO Humanitarian Fund.
Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations World Food Program, is again partnering with the UN WFP to contribute funds from this second leg of the tour to the XO Humanitarian Fund, a fund that supports the organization’s response to the global hunger crisis. In each show, €1 will be reversed for each ticket sold in Europe, £1 in the United Kingdom, and the equivalent of US$ 1 in Latin American countries. The first donation from the North American tour (revenue from ticket sales, an exclusive tour t-shirt, and a direct artist donation of US$500,000) raised US$2 million, which will provide food and nutrition assistance to the most food-insecure regions of Ethiopia.
The European stage of “After Hours Til Dawn” kicks off at Passeio Marítimo on June 6th, with a long-awaited concert, where the greatest hits of one of the most successful artists of all time will echo.
