Agnes Nunes and Mari Froes enchant Lisbon

Agnes, is now more than a promise of the new generation of Brazilian singers, the young woman from Bahia with a soft voice transits between musical genres such as MPB, forró, and blues, and has enchanted the public of Maria Matos, but Mari Froes to whom it was up to her to open the concert, nothing is behind her, with a confident voice she conquered those who didn’t know her yet.

The Brazilian singer and songwriter were welcomed by a legion of fans, who sang along with her from beginning to end, there were many moments of emotion, with the singer making a loving pout, to prevent the emotion from reaching tears, of course, the Forro from Nordeste was not absent, and she even invited a fan to dance with her to the song she loves.

One of the most emotional moments for the public was the song “Lisboa“, Agnes mentioned a long time ago that she wanted to play this theme in the Portuguese capital and that touches the hearts of so many of her compatriots who were watching and of course “Teresinha” a song that she wrote dedicated to her grandmother, and talks about his homesickness when he’s on tour.

Agnes Nunes uses her media coverage for the causes of black empowerment, feminism, and the fight against racism, in her still short career, she already has 28 songs released, a Golden Lion won at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity, and a Young Brazilian Award.

In 2022, he released his first album, “Menina Mulher”, performed in the prestigious COLORS SHOW with the original theme “Não Quer” and debuted on the Sunset stage of Rock In Rio Brazil, in the show “1985: A homage”, alongside by Elba Ramalho, and in a special tribute to Elza Soares, alongside names like Gaby Amarantos, Caio Prado, Larissa Luz, Majur and Mart’nália.

 

With many sound and aesthetic inspirations, Agnes does not allow herself to be labeled and wants to make music of all styles, showing her versatility as an artist. Some of her references are Aretha Franklin, Elza Soares, Nina Simone, Jorge Ben, Queen, Mayra Andrade, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Seu Jorge, Milton Nascimento, and Negra Li.

Agnes is also the composer of many of her songs, and each lyric shows a little of her experiences, passions, and dreams.

Mari Froes

Mariana Froes is part of the new generation of Brazilian singers and composers of great quality, Goiana by birth, had the task of opening the Maria Matos concert, but with many fans already in the public, who vibrated with each theme the artist was presenting, full of quality, sensitivity, and insight.

In 2019, she released the first themes of her career, the singles “Moça” and “Rosa e Laranja”. In 2020, she released her first EP “Nebulosa”. Before that, she collaborated with Rodrigo Alarcon on the song “15b”.

Her most recent work merited the following comment from Rolling Stone Brasil: “It is important to highlight this artist’s sensitive musicality (…) with each new single. There is a vast universe for Mariana Froes to explore. She has plenty of gogó for that”.

The first single, “Talvez…”, with lyrics and music by her, was released in January, followed by “Querido Futuro…”, written with Zé Manel (Fingertips), released in June. Both themes will be part of the debut EP.
