After winning its first Michelin star at the end of last year, just six months after it opened to the public, the fine dining at the Palmares Ocean Living & Golf resort – AL SUD Palmares – has reopened, with a renewed menu.
The restaurant with signature cuisine signed by the renowned Chef Louis Anjos has a new menu, with the same inspiration as always: the best flavours of the Algarve.
The new menu of the eclectic restaurant has a rich variety of local and national meat, fish, seafood and vegetables, in a menu distinguished by the quality of the products and the Chef’s savoir-faire.
“The new menu is a reflection of where we are, with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. The sea is, in fact, a predominant part of the new chart. In the nine-moment menu, for example, five of the seven main courses feature fish or seafood and two contain meat, representing the mountains that surround us”, revealed Chef Louis Anjos.
“Whoever visits us can count on a series of surprising appetizers, lovingly prepared, which convey all the flavour of the region in one bite. An example will be the classic Carrots from the Algarve, carrots marinated with garlic”, he added.
The renewed offer is divided between the six-moment menu, at €105, and the ten-moment menu, at €135. All of these can be accompanied by a wine complement. Among the main dishes is the Oyster from the Ria de Alvor, accompanied by oscietra caviar and cucumber, the Peixe Galo, with açorda and roe, and the Red mullet with roasted tomato and carrots. The menu also includes Iberian Pig Feather, with eggplant, hazelnut and pork feet and the Royal Pigeon with wild mushrooms and fois gras. For desserts, AL SUD Palmares highlights Raspberry with basil and yogurt and Almond from Algarve with rosemary and honey.
This menu was developed over two months, remaining faithful to the restaurant’s original concept and values, as well as the superior quality and creativity that remain evident in each dish.

AL SUD Palmares aims to offer a unique experience, in which the signature menu combines with an intimate and elegant space, overlooking the bay of Lagos and the estuary of Alvor. Located in the Resort’s Clubhouse, the fine dining has a capacity for 24 people and will be open for dinner, from Wednesday to Saturday, upon reservation.

In addition to AL SUD Palmares, Palmares Ocean Living & Golf also has another restaurant, also located in the Clubhouse – a space of strong local expression, with modern infrastructures, designed by the RCR Arquitectes studio, distinguished with the 2017 Pritzker Prize, the most prestigious international award for architecture.
