Alabama Shakes confirmed for NOS Alive’26

Alabama Shakes is preparing for a grand return with a confirmed stop in Portugal on July 9th at the Heineken Stage of NOS Alive’26.

Hailing from Athens, Alabama, Alabama Shakes — formed by Brittany Howard (vocals and guitar), Heath Fogg (guitar) and Zac Cockrell (bass) — conquered the world in 2012 with their debut album Boys & Girls (ATO Records), which went straight to number one on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart. The album earned the group several GRAMMY Award nominations and was widely acclaimed by critics. Rolling Stone magazine highlighted it as one of the best albums of the year, choosing the single “Hold On” as the best song of 2012.

The band quickly catapulted to international stardom, with iconic performances at the White House and on “Saturday Night Live”.

The legacy of Alabama Shakes was solidified with their second album, Sound & Color (ATO Records), released ten years ago. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and won several GRAMMYs, including Best Alternative Music Album, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical), Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song with the title track “Don’t Wanna Fight.”

Described by the New York Times Magazine as a work of “moving and constantly evolving sound,” Sound & Color marked a clear artistic evolution for the group. Both Sound & Color and Boys & Girls were certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Now, Cockrell, Fogg, and Howard are reuniting in the studio, promising new music for fans who have long awaited the return of Alabama Shakes — and an unmissable performance at NOS Alive’26 on July 9th on the Heineken Stage.
