The ‘Shooting Stars’ program is an initiative of the European Film Promotion, to promote new European names in the representation and which aims to connect actors and actresses with professionals in the film industry.
This year, due to restrictive measures to contain the new coronavirus, the ‘Shooting Stars‘ will take place only online, between 23 and 25 February, one week before the 71st Berlin film festival, which kicks off on 01 March.
For this 24th edition of the talent program, ten new talents were chosen, including Alba Baptista, 23, the protagonist of a fictional series on the Netflix platform, ‘Warrior Nun’, premiered in 2020.
Among the most recent projects in which she is involved, not yet released, are the films ‘L’enfant’, produced by Paulo Branco, directed by Marguerite de Hillerin and Félix Dutilloy-Liégeois, ‘Campo de Sangue’, by João Mario Grilo, and ‘Mr. Harris goes to Paris’, by Anthony Fabian.
Within the scope of the ‘Shooting Stars’, a prize will be awarded, which will be delivered in the summer, in the second programming moment of the Berlin film festival, divided into two phases because of the covid-19.
