Albano Jerónimo in the cast of the series “El Presidente” from Amazon

The second season of the fiction series ‘El Presidente’ will be taken over again by Argentine screenwriter and producer Armando Bó, the same one who signed the story for the film ‘Birdman’ (2014), by Alejandro González Iñárritu.

Shooting in Uruguay, the second season will feature the participation of Albano Jerónimo and, although the cast has not been officially revealed, both the Portuguese actor and other elements of the production have already shared images of the shooting on social networks. Also some Latin American press published several names of the cast, including that of the Portuguese actor.

The series “El Presidente”, premiered in 2020, addresses corruption scandals within the International Football Federation (FIFA) involving several leaders, particularly from Latin America, and reported in an investigation in 2015 that became known as ‘FIFAgate’.

Among the figures portrayed in this second season is the Brazilian João Havelange, who presided over FIFA between 1974 and 1988, on whom corruption allegations also fell, and who died at the age of 100 in 2016.
