Alegro Marathon returns to the roads of Setúbal
The athletics tests of the 31st Alegro Half Marathon of Setúbal, which take place on the 30th and 31st of October, are in progress.
The sporting event, organized by the Municipality of Setúbal, with the sponsorship of Alegro Setúbal, has as its main event the half-marathon, on the 31st, a 21-kilometer route starting at the main entrance to the shopping centre, crossing the riverfront and Serra da Arrábida and meta at Largo José Afonso, on Avenida Luísa Todi.
Registration for the main competition has a value of 12 euros.
The Setúbal Half Marathon Alegro also includes, on October 31st, the Families Race, with entries costing seven euros.
The non-competitive race, with 5.5 kilometers in length, between Alegro and Avenida Luísa Todi, starts at the same time as the half-marathon, at 10:00 am.
For the youngest and in the image of previous years, the Alegro Half Marathon of Setúbal 2021 promotes, on October 30, in the afternoon, the Corrida Miúdos Alegro, with distances ranging between 200 and 1000 meters, aimed at children born between 2008 and 2016.
The competition for the kids, starting at 4 pm, takes place at Alegro Setúbal and has free entries, which can be made, as well as for the main competition and for the Race of Families, on the official website of the sporting event, accessible here, in which all the information is available, including the detailed routes of the races.
The event, this year in its 31st edition, provides special conditions for participants, with free parking at P4 at Alegro Setúbal, cloakroom service, shuttle transport for athletes and companions between the starting area, at Alegro Setúbal, and the finish line, on Avenida Luísa Todi, and baths in the shopping center’s spas.
In terms of prizes, the main event will once again have monetary rewards for the top five men and women. The winner receives 500 euros, the second 300, the third 200, the fourth 150 and the fifth 100 euros.
There is also a Meta Volante trophy, at 10 kilometers, awarded to the first male and female athletes to complete this distance and complete the entire race.
Each participant in the half-marathon and the Family Race is given medals and various sponsorship gifts.
