Alentejo wines promoted in the United States

The Alentejo Regional Wine Commission (CVRA) is holding events to promote Alentejo wines in the United States (USA), which is the third export market, on February 6 and 7, was announced today.

According to the CVRA, the two events will take place in the cities of Houston and Dallas in the state of Texas (USA), in which the Master Sommelier Evan Goldstein will present the Alentejo region and its wines to a select group of journalists and professionals sector.

Alentejo wines, selected by expert Evan Goldstein, will be presented on February 6 at the Mastro’s Steakhouse in Houston and the next day at the Zaza Hotel in Dallas.

The initiative, according to the CVRA, has “a special focus on strengthening the reputation of the Vinhos do Alentejo brand” and at the same time “deepening knowledge” about the region and its specific characteristics.

“The United States market is one of the main bets for the export of Alentejo wines, and is currently the third largest market for the region,” says the CVRA.

Alentejo, which has about 22,000 hectares of vineyards, exports its wines to the whole world, with eight wine-growing sub-regions (Portalegre, Borba, Redondo, Reguengos de Monsaraz, Vidigueira, Moura, Évora and Granja / Amareleja) being Brazil, Angola, the United States, Switzerland, and China some of the main markets.
