Among the 40 works now selected is the Portuguese production “Elo”, by Alexandra Ramires, candidate for a nomination for Best Animated Short Film and for the award for Best Visual Development.
“Elo” is a graphite animation on paper and without dialogues, with an argument by Alexandra Ramires and writer Regina Guimarães. Produced by Bando à Parte, in co-production with France, ‘Elo‘ has already been shown at around 30 festivals and shows, and has a dozen awards.
The fourth edition of the Quirino Awards was scheduled for May 29, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain, and was preceded, from the 27th, by the Ibero-American Forum on Coproduction and Business, dedicated to cinema professionals from animation.
Prizes will be awarded for feature films, series, short films, school shorts, custom works, video game animation, original sound and music design, visual development, and animation design.
The selection jury of the nominees includes Jean François Tosti (France), Joana Toste (Portugal), Paula Taborda (Brazil) and Sergio Jiménez.
