The Portuguese Alexis Santos and Ana Catarina Monteiro will compete in the finals of the 200 meters style and 200 moth, respectively, of the swimming Europeans taking place in Glasgow, Scotland.
Alexis swung to the semi-finals in 1.59.89 minutes and advanced to the seventh time among the eight finalists in a race in which Diogo Carvalho won the 10th with 2.00,51 – the medals will be played at 18.15.
The national record belongs to Alexis Santos, fixed at 1.58,88, in 2017, in Coimbra.
Ana Catarina Monteiro finished fourth in the first series of the 200 meters moth, with 2.08.96 minutes, eighth qualifying mark for the final, to be held at 17.00.
Ana Catarina Monteiro has a national record of 2.08.76 minutes set June 10 at the Mare Nostrum Circuit in France.
In synchronized swimming, in a combined free-kick, Portugal finished in 10th place with 76.3667 points in a team composed by Filipa Coelho, Barbara Costa, Filipa Faria, Francisca Fonseca, Beatriz Gama, Bruna Garcia, Maria Beatriz Gonçalves, Maria Do Carmo Martins, Mariana Teixeira and Cheila Vieira.
