Altice Forum Braga hosts the NOROESTE – Root Contemporary Music Festival

Within the scope of the program of Braga 2021 – Capital of Culture of the Eixo Atlântico, the Municipality of Braga, in partnership with Arca de Sons – Cultural Association, promotes, from 26 to 28 August, Noroeste – Root Contemporary Music Festival, in the Altice Forum Braga.

The program includes Filipa Torres, O Tempo Não Parou invites Maria João, Beatriz Martinez & Langarika and Daniel Pereira Cristo.

Noroeste proposes itself as a new music festival, with the permanent dichotomy between the local and the world, between the traditional and the contemporary – with the respective influences of roots, fusion, jazz and world music. A festival that symbolizes a new feeling of our millenary region, which wants to and knows how to reinvent! It is also a look to the future, knowing well what our past was, with our feet firmly planted in the present and in the land that saw us born and grow, and whose soul of 3000 years of history of the Bracari, of Galécia, of Sweden, of the Kingdom of Galicia – all of them had Braga as their capital – keeps stubbornly and resisting to this day.

The present that we have the duty to (re)create and project into the future through our music, our common culture and our root identity reinvented and translated into contemporaneity“. The Noroeste festival will feature some of the most virtuous musicians, instrumentalists and composers of the Peninsular Northwest, well representative of the music that is being made today in the Eixo Atlântico, where the root is easily identifiable, but also the contemporaneity where our sounds must claim presence.

The concerts always start at 9 pm and have free entry, limited to the space capacity and subject to a ticket collection at the Altice Forum Braga ticket office.
