Amazon opens supermarket in London without cashiers

About a year ago, when the subject of Covid-19 was still beginning to be addressed, Amazon decided to open its first large supermarket in the USA without payment boxes.

Now the giant has opened the first supermarket with these characteristics outside the United States, more specifically in London. To buy at this establishment, the customer only needs to identify himself on the Amazon app.

In the so-called Amazon Fresh, customers do not need to pass the products in the box to pay, just go out with their purchases.

To buy at this establishment, the customer must first identify himself on the company’s app. It is then enough for the consumer to bring the smartphone closer to a reader that is at the entrance to the supermarket and start shopping. The products removed from the shelves are then placed in a virtual shopping cart.
