Amélia Muge, ‘Chove Muito, Chove Tanto’ é o primeiro single do novo álbum

The artist’s new album entitled ‘amélia‘, a tribute to singing with women’s voices, especially the one mostly done a cappella, will be released on March 18 and been on pre-sale at FNAC since today.

Amélia Muge is a renowned singer and very eclectic creator, making revisitation that go to the roots of traditional music, going through the challenges of multicultural fusion and the most contemporary languages.

A pioneer in Portugal in individual singing with voices and in creating vocal environments, Amélia Muge developed timbral potentials in interaction with samples made from her voice. This is a component she has been using regularly in most of her work.

The CD ‘AMÉLIAS‘ appears in the continuity of this song with her own voices and it is these voices that form the basis of the accompaniment, in an unexpected and unique result. It is a tribute to the richness of female group singing, much of it to Cappella and the original compositions, bringing sound memories of this primordial vocal expression, in a more contemporary reading that does not remove its common root when revisiting other and new approaches.

The visual component has always been a fundamental element in her work as well, including on this CD a collection of 13 postcards she illustrated, which makes it an object with unusual characteristics.
