Friends, good food, good products and wines from small producers return to Pavia

The new edition of J&A features 14 small producers, culinary tastings and Masterclasses.

“Let’s have a meeting of friends, small wine producers” was the challenge Joaquim Arnaud made last year to Luís Gradíssimo, the Enóphilo, as he is known in the wine world. They headed to Pavia, where Joaquim has a property worthy of receiving kings and queens and created, in 2022, Joaquim Arnaud & Friends. After the great success of the first edition, they decided that they would continue, this year, with some new features and giving reasons to all food lovers – and wine, of course! – for a walk around Alto Alentejo, on a winter afternoon.

The friends will be bringing their good wines to Pavia on December 1, 2023, between 3 pm and 8 pm. Namely: Joaquim Arnaud (various regions), Quinta dos Plátanos (Lisbon), 1000 Curvas (Vinhos Verdes), Quinta de Paços (Vinho Verdes), Henrique Cizeron (Vinho Verdes, Douro and New Zealand), Portugal Wine Firm (Dão, Lafões, Távora-Varosa), Quinta das Carrafouchas (Lisbon), Herdade do Mouchão (Alentejo), Confraria do Vinho de Talha de Cabeção (Alentejo), André Herrera (Alentejo), Herdade da Amada (Alentejo), Quinta do Todão (Douro ), Cypriano Vineyards (Vinhos Verdes) and the international presence of Silar de Cillos (Ribeira del Duero).

The restaurants Híbrido (Évora), Poda (Montemor-O-Novo), A Burguesia do Leitão and the Venda Malteza store will also be present to show that great wines are also (well) accompanied by great culinary experiences.

The moments of learning were not forgotten and in the Masterclasses, this time, we will talk about olive oil, with the great Francisco Pavão and about wines, with Tiago Paula (President of the Associação Portuguesa de Escanções) both will generously share, even more, knowledge to those who are sure that they can always learn more, after all, knowledge has no place.

“We want to show that small producers have different visions, each unique, that they make different wines and that they express themselves best outside the big cities. On top of that, Mora’s landscapes deserve to be experienced by everyone. There are conversations that need to be had and laughs to be had, many things to learn, without forgetting, the flavours that we will have and that must be tasted, not only at the event but in the restaurants in the municipality of Mora, where hunting month is also celebrated. But especially, having reasons to leave home, spend a beautiful day with us and feel like coming back in 2024” says Joaquim Arnaud, host of the event.
