On the night of September 23rd, the viewpoint with the best panoramic view over Lisbon will be the stage for a night dedicated to the stars. Between 8:30 pm and 12:15 am, the Amoreiras 360o Panoramic View will provide an unforgettable perspective on the stars, in partnership with the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences (IA).
Accustomed to the unparalleled view that this magical space in the city of Lisbon offers its visitors, this year it once again becomes a “window to the sky”, where it will be possible to observe the beauty of the Moon, the planets and the constellations.
Through the IA telescopes, installed at the viewpoint, the mountains and craters of the Moon, and the planets Saturn and Jupiter can be observed in detail during part of the night, and it will also be possible to identify the constellations Sagittarius, Swan, Eagle and Hercules, visible at this time of year.
To make this experience even more complete and fascinating, participants will be able to talk to the Institute’s astronomers who will be ready to share their knowledge about the magic of the Universe and all its curiosities. They will also be able to capture, with their cell phones or cameras, the astronomical objects visible behind the telescopes, to share or later remember.
In order not to miss this free initiative, interested parties must register on September 23rd from 6:30 pm next to the entrance to the Miradouro. 5 observation sessions of 30 minutes each are planned and scheduled to start at 8:30 pm, 9:15 pm, 10:00 pm, 10:45 pm, and 11:30 pm. Its completion is subject to favorable weather and atmospheric conditions, which may only be known on the day until 2 pm.
