Amyl and The Sniffers confirmed at NOS Alive’25
Australian punk rock band Amyl and The Sniffers will perform on the Heineken stage of NOS Alive’25 on July 12th. The veterans of Baltimore Future Islands and the Irish country-pop sensation CMAT are already confirmed for this day.
Amyl and The Sniffers are bringing their new album, Cartoon Darkness, to NOS Alive, released on October 25th. The album that was recorded with producer Nick Launay (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) at 606 Foo Fighters’ Los Angeles is “about the climate crisis, war, artificial intelligence, walking on the eggshells of politics and people feeling they are helping by having a voice online when in fact we are just feeding the data machine of Big Tech, our modern god. It’s about the fact that our generation is fed with information. We look like adults, but we are children forever encapsulated in a shell. Amy Taylor says “We are all passively swallowing distractions that do not even cause pleasure, sensation or joy; they only cause numbness”.
“Cartoon Darkness is diving headlong into the unknown, in this looming outline of the future that seems terrible but does not yet exist—a childish darkness. I don’t want to meet the devil halfway and lament what we have now. The future is a cartoon, the prescription is dark, but it’s new. It’s just a joke. It’s fun.”
The band arrives at the Passeio Marítimo de Algés on July 12, to perform at the NOS Alive’25 Heineken Stage.
