“An Evening with Tommy Emmanuel” in Faro
European tour passes by the Teatro das Figuras on 15 February
Tommy Emmanuel, recognized worldwide as one of the greatest guitarists of the moment, performs in Portugal on February 15, 2025, at the Grande Auditório do Teatro das Figuras, in Faro.
The show, entitled “An Evening with Tommy Emmanuel”, also has the participation of Francesco Buzzurro in the first part and is part of the 8th Faro Guitar Festival.
With a career spanning decades, Tommy Emmanuel is a true virtuoso, known for his ability to play multi-dimensional arrangements flawlessly on an acoustic guitar. Originally from Muswellbrook, New South Wales, Australia, he began his relationship with music at an early age, learning the first chords from his mother and exploring electric guitar alongside brother Phil.
In his youth, he formed a band with the brothers, but it was in the solo format that found its way. Inspired by Chet Atkins, with whom he developed a long-lasting friendship and recorded the album The Day Finger Pickers Took Over the World, Tommy embraced the simplicity of acoustic sound. Recognition was quick: Chet awarded him the title of CGP (Certified Guitar Player), a rare honour shared by only four other guitarists in history.
Tommy’s career is marked by sold-out stage performances around the world, multiple Grammy nominations, ARIA and IBMA awards, plus a collection of distinctions such as “Best Acoustic Guitarist” in numerous music publications.

This concert in Faro is part of the European tour “An Evening with Tommy Emmanuel”, where the musician presents the most important moments of his career.
The show will take place on February 15, 2025, at 9:30 pm, in the Grande Auditório do Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, and will feature Francesco Buzzurro in the first part. Tickets are already available, with prices of 27.50€ for the 1st audience and 25.00€ for the 2nd audience, which can be purchased at BOL and in the usual places.
