Ana Lua Caiano is preparing for her live debut in the UK with a show in London, at La Linea Festival, this Thursday, May 1st, Labour Day.
The show will take place at Hootananny Brixton, one of the most iconic venues on London’s South Bank, and is part of the 25th edition of La Linea Festival, an event that celebrates the diversity of Latin music in the UK.
The Portuguese artist has been attracting the attention of international critics, including the British. Her debut album, Vou Ficar Neste Quadrado, was featured on radio stations such as BBC6, Worldwide FM, Soho Radio, and in the press such as The Wire Magazine, Songlines and The Line of Best Fit.
“Caiano’s charismatic delivery and emotive gestures manage to convey a power that, in many ways, transcends the need to understand the lyrics in Portuguese, even with a simple shrug of the shoulders or a hand on the hip. It’s a performance that feels simultaneously on edge and hard to look away from.” – Shane Woolman, The Wire Magazine at the launch of Vou Ficar Neste Quadrado.
To mark this first performance in the United Kingdom, Ana Lua Caiano has released a new visualizer for the song “Ando em Círculos”, directed by Joana Caiano, now available on digital platforms.
This concert marks the beginning of a new international stage for the artist, who will continue touring countries such as Italy, Spain and France, in addition to maintaining an active schedule in Portugal until the end of the year, presenting her debut LP in locations from North to South of the country (and islands).
Ana Lua Caiano recently won the Critics’ Award at the 7th edition of the PLAY Awards and the FUTURAWARD for Best Solo Artist of 2024.
