Ana Luisa Amaral wins the Spanish Literary Prize Leteo 2020

This award is an initiative of the Cultural Action and Promotion Directorate of the Municipality of Leão and Clube Leteo Cultural, who rescued it after two years without realizing it, due to lack of budget.

The poet Rafael Saravia, in the second half of October, a new edition of the conference organized by the Club will take place, which will focus on the figure and work of Ana Luisa Amaral.

She is one of the most important living poets in Portugal, having also been a finalist for the Queen Sofia Prize twice, also remembering the social commitment of the writer.

Born in Lisbon in 1956, Ana Luísa Amaral is a Portuguese poet, translator and professor of English and American Literature and Culture, at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto.

She has a PhD on Emily Dickinson’s poetry and her research areas are Comparative Poetics, Feminist Studies and Queer Studies.

Although her literary field is essentially poetry, she has also published essays, theater, fiction and children’s literature.
