The fado singer presented her new album Laço yesterday at Maria Matos, enchanting and singing the lyrics of João Monge.
Prado took the stage to take the many fans who were present on a lyrical journey around the album released by the Museu do Fado and supported by the Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores. Laço includes various unreleased creations by national authors and composers in addition to traditional fados. Agir, Luísa Sobral, Mário Laginha, and Vitorino contribute greatly to this album by Ana Margarida Prado.
Prado was awarded at the International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA) in the USA for “Best Fado Performance” for the song “A Ver as Vistas” and was nominated this year with her project Bela Ensemble for “Best Fado Album” at the Play – Prémios da Música Portuguesa.
Ana was joined on stage by Bernardo Couto on Portuguese guitar, Bernardo Saldanha on the viola, and Francisco Gaspar on the bass viola, and also featured guests, Mário Laginha, Carlos Bica, and Camané, who offered the fantastic fado “Se Amanhã fosse Domingo” to the audience present.
